Eid Inspired Makeup Tutorial | Featuring Dalphies

IMG_8139

Hi loves!

Recently, I’ve partnered up with the owner of http://www.dalphies.com to present to you guys, this Eid inspired makeup look. Who is Dalphies might you ask? Well, they are an e-commerce website that specializes in unique and trendy collections consisting of south asian attire and jewellery! The owner of Dalphies was nice enough to send me some beautiful pieces to use in my looks, from matha pathi’s to tikka’s – so pretty, unique and perfect for those glammed out looks I love to do. Another great factor about the jewellery was that they were light and not pulling down on my ears (like other heavy south asian pieces -__- lol).

Now don’t get me wrong, this look doesn’t just have to be worn on Eid, you can definitely use it in your summer bollywood weddings or typical summer late night dawats. If you think the lashes are too much, feel free to use a different pair or just wear your own natural lashes with a touch of mascara. Thanks to tape, this look ended up being so neat and clean – definitley give it a try!

Jaclyn Hill Favorites | Morphe Brushes

tumblr_nhb46v2Y2y1qi5p7no1_500

Amongst the very few YouTubers I follow religiously, Jaclyn Hill has come out with an eyeshadow palette of her own collaborating with Morphe Cosmetics. Now if this isn’t motivating, I don’t know what is. The colors on her palette are not only colors that she uses in her looks but are completely wearable warm colors that anyone can incorporate into their makeup routine on a daily basis.

Like seriously, I use those brown tones every single day on my crease. Now each of these eyeshadows individually sell for $2.29 on www.morphebrushes.com. However, if you were able to snatch a JH palette before it got sold out (literally within 24 hours) you are one of the lucky ones to own all of her favorite shades.

I don’t think that this palette will be re sold but if it does one day, you need to get your hands on it! I’ve uploaded a picture below with the titles of each color. Specifically, these are some of my daily favorites.. Can you tell I like warm colors?!

ES64
ES14
ES15
ES71
ES59

All in all, the palette is pretty awesome. The colors are great, the packaging is chic and Jaclyn Hill is amazing so I expect nothing less. Also, her latest product, Champagne Pop | A highlighter (and also a collaboration with Becca) is already online but will be in Sephora stores July 16th. I’M SO EXCITED!

To check out my makeup tutorial using the palette, see here:

Strobing is the new contouring?

Edited3

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8Rp-K_4rE0DbkEyCh-xluQ

Is it though?

Isn’t strobing just a technique we all use when we’re lazy in the mornings?

If you have been on social media for the past 2 weeks, you’ll know that strobing is all the rage right now. Strobing (aka highlighting) focuses exclusively on just highlighter and illuminators as oppose to contouring that helps you define and structure your face using darker shades. Strobing focuses exactly on where the light would hit your face – in this case, it can be the highest points of your cheekbones, your nose, your temples, your cupid’s bow and even your collar bones. Although this look makes one look more angelic, radiating and glowy, I still do prefer contouring (even with the summer heat, when I have time of course).

Regardless, I had to make a video to show my subscribers what strobing is and how you can achieve it. Please see above for the video and below for a product list of what I have used.

Product List:

– True Match Concealer and Illuminator
– Nars, Copacabana Illuminator
– NYX, Illuminator in Gleam
– Becca Highlighter in Opal
– Bobbi Brown, Illuminating Treatment Foundation
– Mac, Mineralize Skin Finish

Lorac Unzipped Palette: Review & Swatches

Irene Sarah was the one who introduced me to the Lorac Unzipped Palette. Through her videos, I was convinced to buy it when I went to Florida because the colors were so beautiful and neutral! The palette includes 10 shimmery and matte eye shadows and comes with an amazing “Mini Behind The Scenes” eye primer.

I feel that the palette is easily comparable to the Naked Palette however, I can certainly see why other guru’s think the Unzipped Palette is better. When I used this palette with the primer that was included, I didn’t crease all day. In fact, I hardly had any fall out when applying the shadows to my eyes.

If you are ever going on a trip, I think this palette would be amazing to take– not only because of the neutral colors that would go with any of your outfit’s but also because of how small it is in size. It is light and wont take up too much room! Overall, I totally love this palette and find that I use it on a daily basis, especially for work because the colors are so neutral.

Feel free to see my YouTube video above so you can do a similar neutral look and my swatches below!

How to: Contour, Highlight and Conceal

Hi dolls!

The other day I posted a new video entitled: How to Contour, Highlight and Conceal. A lot of people tend to run away when they hear the words “contour” and “highlight”, but I promise you it’s not that bad. When using the right tools, techniques and methods, it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3! I started getting into contouring and highlight when Kim Kardashian first posted that picture of her makeup artist applying the highlighter and brown shadow to her face, I was literally like “wow!” I then started googling and youtubing various makeup artists and how they apply the contour and highlighting technique to their face. To this day, I still think that Kim Kardashian truly has the best contouring and highlighting than any other celebrity – definitely an inspiring photo to look at while practicing is this one:

Now, there are a lot of benefits to contouring as it can make a world of a difference. By contouring your temple, nose, cheekbones, jaw line, eye crease and even the inner corners of your eyes, you can make it look like you have lost 5-10 pounds easily! Contouring and highlighting also helps define your look, disguise double chins and adds shape to your face!

Concealing allows you to hide those dark circles under your eyes, hide pimples and any red spots that appear on your face. In addition, highlighting allows you to add brightness to your face! When highlighting, it reflects light on your face and gives you a brighter look. In addition, highlighting the middle of your nose will allow your face to appear much longer.

Of course contouring and highlighting is not as easy as it looks. Everyone has a different face shape and you have to find out what works for you! It takes a lot of practice, good precision and of course good lighting. If you have ever photographed yourself using the correct technique to contour and highlight, you will easily notice how much it change the structure on your face.

Anyway, I hope this video helps you guys with the basics of contouring and highlighting. This is kind of how I do it on an everyday basis. Of course, when I want my look to be more “dramatic”, I spend more time on contouring and highlighting and focus on my chin and temples in addition to my nose and cheekbones. For now, this is an easy and simple method that shows you how to contour your cheekbones and nose that helps you achieve that structured face!

Evening Bollywood Makeup Tutorial

photo 3 copy

Hi Everyone!!

Over the weekend, it was my friends Gaye Holud.. and can I just add that she looked like Princess Jasmine!? Absolutely gorgeous!! For her holud, I decided to wear a pink & purple coloured shalwar kameez and with that, I filmed a brand new make up tutorial!

I kept the colors pretty subtle on my face because I didn’t want to look like a clown, especially considering that my outfit was already so bright and colorful. I started with basic foundation and then moved onto my eyes. The eyeshadow was pretty subtle but my lashes made the look a little more glamorous! (Unfortunately I had translucent powder on one of my eyes throughout the whole video and only noticed when I watched it at the end) – it’s all good though, no shame here!

At the end of my look, I decided to try my new purple lipstick from NYX called Pandora. Unfortunately the colour was a little too dark for me so I decided to put on my favourite bright pink lipstick and was fully satisfied with the look =]

My Everyday Look

Hi dolls!

So it’s been quite some time since I have had time to blog but I’m happy to say I’m back… WITH MY FIRST YOUTUBE VIDEO! #bigdeal

I’ve been wanting to start making Youtube videos for quite some time but it’s not only challenging but can of course can also be controversial. Regardless, I put all negativity (that can come in the future) aside and said to myself, I’m gonna do it!

My first video is a tutorial for an easy everyday make up look! This is a look that I do on a daily basis (sometimes I cut the skin enhancer and Ben Nye out of my daily routine because it can get a little ‘cakey’). Other then that, it’s a quick simple and easy look that only takes about 10 minutes. A little bit about my skin: I have pretty bad eczema as well as roseacea which has left my skin to be dry and red most days! This look helps me cover that up completely with just a few steps.

Thanks so much for all of the great feedback and questions about my makeup! I wanted to share my product details with you guys, if there’s anything I left out, feel free to let me know below in the comments!

Face/Skin:

EOS Lip Balm
Monistat Chafing Gel (Primer)
Mac Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation (NC42)
